people are good

I have been overwhelmed & very touched by the MANY people who have contacted me wanting to help with this. Justin has sent me a list of needs for the kids from the prison (basically, school supplies for 50 kids), but there are also a couple of orphanages that some guys work with from Justin's base. They have some more basic needs like clothes, shoes, simple toys, etc. We will be collecting items for the prison & the orphanages. Justin said a lot of the kids at the orphanages don't have shoes. I'm going to contact the girls' school and another local elementary to see if we can set up some shoe donation bins near their offices. I know there are plenty of outgrown shoes out there!

Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome. My sister-in-law, Kim, has some connections with UPS, so we might be able to work out a shipping deal.

Again, thank you so much for your willingness to help. I'm grateful to be surrounded by people who know what it means to look outside yourself for opportunities to serve.

good things...

1. reduce, reuse, recycle
2. good people
3. heading into winter with shoes
