half birthday

Since Ellie has a summer birthday, her class celebrated her half birthday today. I helped Ellie make a special "all about me" poster, she got to take her favorite treats (skittles & kit kats) to share, wear the coveted birthday crown, AND I even curled her hair...Charlie's Angels style. She was a little disappointed to learn there would be no cake or presents...but, overall, I think it was a pretty fun day for her! Justin's parents even brought us dinner...
homemade macaroni & cheese--mmmmmmmm.
Thanks again, Grandma & Grandpa!

good things...

1. comfort food
2. having someone else cook
3. left-overs for tomorrow!

Sue, I have been thinking about you and your family a lot lately. I want you to know that we keep all of you in our prayers and miss you as neighbors. I am so glad that Ellie had so much fun!

I love the idea of celebrating summer 1/2 birthdays- why cram all the summer b-days into the last week of school? I'm also glad you enjoyed treats. Our school policy is to celebrate with a "healthy snack" or pencil...

You have two gorgeous little "angels" and a very cute "Charlie"! Sounds like a fun day for Ellie. Tell her happy half-birthday for us!

That is so Ellie's cup of tea. You can tell by her smile that it was one super great day!
