Justin has FINALLY left Camp Stone! He has begun his journey home. I don't know why I'm so nervous...I couldn't fall asleep until 7am this morning! I just laid in my bed, trying to turn my brain off, but to no avail. I'm sure it could have a little to do with all the stories I've heard over the past couple of years of those who have lost their lives on the last leg of their deployment. I think I've developed a bleeding ulcer in the last month...kidding (I hope). What I wouldn't give to fall asleep tonight, and wake up on the 23rd with him here!
Over the last 14 months, I have gained a ridiculous amount of love & gratitude for the men, women, & families who do this over & over again. This is our first & last deployment, and I'm genuinely surprised that we've survived! I don't know how I could ever do it again. I never realized the tremendous burden placed upon our military & their families. We do not acknowledge them enough.
To say thank you seems trite. I am forever changed by this experience. I've gained a great love for the Afghan people who so desperately seek freedom--I admire & pray for them. My love for this country, it's founders, & those who continue to protect her has increased in ways I never thought possible. My family has been strengthened & bonded through service & sacrifice...a gift we could have received in no other way.
I pray that never changes.
good things...
1. Jessica (my niece) feeding the kids dinner & taking them on a walk, while I slept
2. prayer
3. the final stretch

You are an amazing family! We are so excited for you guys.
We rejoice with you that he's finally on his way home and we are so grateful for your sacrifice and for all of the things we've been reminded to be grateful for because of your experience/trial. We love you all and can't wait to see Justin! Of course, you all continue to be in our prayers.
Oh! I am so glad to hear that Justin is headed home! Much love to all of you!!
I can't wait to see Justin home again.
Love you, Mom
Oh, so we are so excited that he will be home soon! We are trying to time our Fallon trip so that we can see you guys. We will so how things go. I, too agree, Thank you is never enough for all that the men and women in the service sacrifice or what their families sacrifice. But because I can think of no better way to express my gratitude and the feelings in my heart, all I can say... is THANK YOU! WE PRAY FOR ALL OF YOU EVERYDAY. I wish I could do more, but I guess that will have to do for now. Love you guys!
Sue- Thank you, Thank you for all you have sacrificed so Justin could serve our country. I have never been in your situation but I fully agree that we don't acknowledge those who serve our country near enough. If you have time and are looking for a girl's night out before Justin comes home, call me and Rob can watch your kids so we can play! I'm in if you are!
