General Conference

Okay, so I'm a late, but I just had to say a little something about General Conference. Looooved every minute of it! Well, at least the minutes I actually heard. Hallelujah for DVR...I can go back and catch the moments lost to screaming children or, I admit it, nodding off. Don't act like you've never done it!

I loved seeing Pres. Monson's personality come out...even more! He was cracking me up! I'm so grateful for the Spirit that whispered to me over and over that he was a prophet of God. How blessed we are to know that God teaches us truth through the Holy Ghost. It brings me great comfort to know that in all my indecisive mania & compulsive worrying, I can find truth and peace through the gift of the Holy Ghost. It truly is a gift from a loving Father in Heaven.

There were so many great talks, but Elder Ballard's really resonated with me. I've been re-running his words in my head since Sunday. I thought he did an amazing job at painting a realistic picture of motherhood, and then giving inspired and specific counsel on how each member of the family can aid in making motherhood truly joyful...or, on some days, at least survivable! If you didn't get a chance to watch, here it is (in 2 parts)...enjoy!
(Remember to pause my music before playing.)

Elder M. Russell Ballard (Part 1)

Elder M. Russell Ballard (Part 2)

good things...

1. a prophet of God
2. a sure way to know truth

Bro. Ballards talk was wonderful. Of course all my neighbors said their husbands happened to nod off just in time for that talk, Todd did too. I made sure to rewind it for him when he woke up.
Ballard
Bednar
Eyring
those were my favorite this time.
And Pres. Monson in the last session.

"Pajama church" is my favorite Saturdays and Sundays of the year (and not just because of the pj's)! And I made sure that everyone in my family was awake and listening to E. Ballard's talk, too!

Ballard is a GOOD MAN! (of course) but that talk was so comforting and encouraging.
I also loved Monsons ending...it was so great to laugh with him and feel that same love for him that I did for Hinkley.
What a great weekend!
