Is it a bad sign when this is the airport your husband is landing at in a few hours? I hope not. He called early this morning as he was getting ready to board his plane at Fort Riley. Abbie and I were both in tears all morning...making us late for church...again! (Maybe if we sleep in our church clothes next week, we'll be on time.) When we got home from church, I put Ammon down for a nap, told Abbie to feed the girls lunch, and went to bed. I was awakened by a welcomed phone call from Justin in Ireland. They had a short layover there on their way to KYRGYZSTAN! (See aforementioned bad sign.)
Today was a hard day, but tomorrow is Ellie's BIG start to kindergarten...so I'm bucking up and moving forward! I hope she has a great day and isn't too "nervous". She seems to use that word a lot lately. She was worried the other night that she would be "too nervous" at her first soccer practice. She did great, and on the way to the car I said...
Mom: Ellie, you did so awesome!
Ellie: Yeah, I DID do awesome! I love myself!
Mom: (laughing)
Ellie: And I wasn't even nervous.
Mom: I love you, Ellie.
Ellie: I know.
Let's hope she has the same "awesome" experience tomorrow.
good things...
1. firsts
2. loving yourself
3. knowing your husband's NOT on the plane that crashed

Hey, Sue. I'm sorry yesterday was such a rough day. With Andrea and Tanner leaving today, yesterday was pretty awful for us, too. I think if I were you, I'd focus on the fact that Justin won't be flying in one of those Krgystani planes! Good luck to Ellie; she's precious. Keep a stiff upper lip (or cry your eyes out whenever you need to - whatever works best for you!)
"Firsts" are GREAT! "Lasts" not too. Today was Starr's "first" and my "last", which is kind of sad but also exciting. Starr started her "first" day at the High School and she is my "last" child to send to High School. So ENJOY!
HAHAH. Aw. Ellie is so cute. That is going in my Facebook quotes.
I miss you!
How fun! I love Ellie, too. She is awesome.
Love you, Mom
Ellie you are awesome. Her mom is pretty awesome too.
i've been thinking about you lately. I miss your posts, but understand that your life is unbelievably busy.
Hope today has been a good day- You're one amazing person. Keep us posted on things, when you have time.
I'm excited to see how the first day went. :)
Ah, Sue- you are one tough woman! Love the confidence you've instilled in your girls:)!
Jim spent a month in Kyrgyzstan and it wasn't bad. In fact, they visited a local children's hospital and also delivered a bunch of soccer balls there for someone's eagle project. I have a bunch of pictures I could e-mail ya, if you'd like some positive reinforcement!
