Ellie started a new preschool in January, and has had a hard time--which is not her personality at all. We've been a bit worried about it. They started her in a lower class until they could evaluate her and move her up. She's been really shy (I know, I know--who is this girl?), and was not showing her teacher just how brilliant she is. :) They were telling me she didn't know things that I know she's known since she was two!
Well...something finally clicked, and she opened up. She started in the upper class yesterday, and her teacher could not stop going on about how great she did. His exact words were, "She's gunna karate chop the heck out of kindergarten!" He said to give her a few weeks to settle in and she'd be number one in her class. Okay, okay...braggy, I know. What can I say? I'm soooooo very proud of her. Anyone who knows Ellie, knows she can have a hard time focusing (major understatement). She is trying really hard, and it is paying off for her. Good job, sweet Ellie! I love you.

Hooray. Your little ones are so adorable. I'm sorry to hear that your hubby has to go away.
Suebeedo-
You are such a great mom. This reminds me of my neighbor who wne to her girls kindergarten conference years back and the teacher said her daughter would have to repeat kindergarten (of all things) and my neighbor said you have got to be kidding. They opened up her journal writtings for the class, and the teacher said, this is just letter that don't make any sense. The mom said, what? her daughter had actually been writting stories and sentences complete with periods at the end. They just happend to run together, and look like "kids writing" needless to say, hr daughter went to first grade the next year and ended up in the advanced reading program.
Sometimes kids clam up or are not attentive, because those little brains of theirs are running a million miles an hour with good old fashoined SMARTS!
yeay Ellie!
PS.
Alicia Keys "No One"

She is brilliant and I am glad her teacher can finally appreciate Ellie's talent. What a cute girl!
