What can I say? My children are brilliant! Abbie really wanted to do a project for the science fair. I was not quite as excited about the whole idea (science is not really my area of expertise), but Justin has a little experience in the field, so he & Abbie formulated a project. It was fun to see them work on it together all week.
Well, yesterday was the big day! Justin helped her conduct and document her experiment, and I help her put her display together. I couldn't wait for her to get home from school (our neighbor brings her home) to see how it went. You could imagine my surprise when she walked in the door sobbing. She came running to me and told me she felt really sick all day (headache). I asked her if she told her teacher, and she said she didn't tell her because they didn't turn in their projects until the end of the day, and she didn't want to miss it. I immediately had some serious flashbacks of me throwing up at school on my birthday and not telling anyone because I wanted to pass out my cupcakes.
Anyhow...she took some Tylenol and went to bed for the rest of the afternoon. I woke her up just in time to eat and head over to the school to see the results. Well, her long traumatic day paid off.....
First place and an invitation to the State Science Fair!!! She was sooooo excited! We are very proud of our budding scientist. Great job! We love you, Abbie.

Hurray, welcome over to blogspot! And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the heads up on how to slurp blogs! That seriously is SO GREAT! It makes blogging all the more worthwile, and justifies every minute spent! Congrat's on the move- it looks super nice, I'm impressed.
Tell the little scientist that she has inspired Macall. She is already looking for a project. I just hopes she forgets or it will be another project for me!
Woohoo for Abbie! Mike & I were recently invited to be judges at a high school science fair on 2/24. Hope we get to see projects as great as Abbie's!
Way to go Abbie!! What a fun activity to do with her dad. Good luck at the State Science Fair!
Congrats Abbie! You're one smart cookie!
Congratulations Abbie! I'm not surprised - she is a smartie!
