Jenny Phillips and her traveling choir came to our small little town last night to do a fireside. It really is amazing that she's able to do that. She travels all over the world...with her husband and 3 kids. It was great! The youth loved it. I loved it. There was one little video segment that made me really think about my kids, and how blessed I am to have them. I know I've been a lot less patient with them since this whole deployment thing has dropped into our laps. I think the level of tension/emotion in our house has quadrupled--at least. I realized that I need to be the one to set the tone in our home, and make sure the kids feel extra loved and secure right now. I told them this morning I was going to try my best to not yell anymore. That lasted...oh, about...20 minutes. But--it was a better day overall. I'm still working on it.
Also, I was released as the Young Women's president at church today. It was very bitter sweet. I know it needed to happen, but this has truly been my favorite calling ever! I love the women I worked with. I love these young women! I just have to keep reminding myself that there is a PLAN that is bigger than I am. I need to trust that everything will somehow work for our good...eventually. See--there's that patience thing again! I'm working on it, okay!

Your post just saved Truman after giving Carrington an entire box of thin mint cookies that are now all over my carpet, couches, rugs, blankets, walls along with her clothes! Thanks!!!
I know the feeling! I loved serving with those girls. Who is the new YW President? That poor ward can't keep ahold of anyone.
I think we need a list maker at our house, with the same job division! What a great young women come from great young women leaders. Thanks for making a difference in my daughters lives.
I'm so glad you blog. I'm grateful for all the entries you post. I love reading them. I am so glad there are other moms out there struggling to be patient with their children. Funny though, I think of you as an extremely patient person!!
Thanks for the nice comments! One question for all you commentors...is "mom" my mom, Linda, or some other great mom out there?
SUE-HELLO! Your post today pulled at my heart strings, it's so hard to be released from that calling. I'm certain those girls love you as much as you do them and they will remember you the rest of their days! Sounds like your plate it FULL at the moment! A time and season, right!?!?
Good luck with the patience thing, when you figure it out....will you tell me the secret cuz I struggle daily with the YELLING :)
ps, your family is beautiful!
