Well, we drove home from Vegas on Ammon's birthday, and he was so sick & miserable when we finally arrived that we decided to put the poor boy to bed and celebrate the next day. The girls could hardly wait, but I'm glad we did.
What a difference a day makes!
Now here's where I get all sad and weepy thinking about my little guy (who was never very little) turning into a big, beautiful, happy, clever, curious, cheeky, cuddly, gorgeous one-year-old boy. When did that happen?! I swear to you, it was yesterday when I saw this boy's face and started to fall...head over heels...for the second time in my life. I've had a major crush since day one! I could not have prayed for a better baby to calm the anxious tendencies of a mother of four. He truly was a blessing from heaven. My Heavenly Father knows me so well, and is aware of my needs. Ammon was a sweet and simple answer to my many prayers.
So, here's to a year of firsts for my big little guy...

gave mom first heart attack (March 24, 2007)
received a name & a blessing from his father (4/8/07)
first real bath...loooved it! (6 weeks)
first smile (8 weeks)
first time at Sea World (2 1/2 months)
first time rolling over...and with his belly,
that's quite the accomplishment (4 months)
first time sitting up on his own...again,
great victory over gravity (6 months)
starts crawling--army style (7 1/2 months)
cuts first tooth (9 months)
conquers the stairs (9 months)
starts clapping & waving (10 1/2 months)
takes first steps (11 months)
starts giving kisses & saying "hi" (1 year)
Here are some of my favorite things about Ammon...
that he went from an army crawl straight to walking
(he could never quite get his belly off the ground :)
he (27 lbs) outweighs Eden (26 lbs)
how ticklish he is...I can make him laugh at any given moment (changing his diaper, taking his temperature, kissing his toes)
his smile...just about anything/anyone can bring a smile to his face
his eyes...they twinkle
his rolls...this little guy is so chunky and cute! you just want to squoosh him and pinch his little cheeks and thighs and toes and arms and...
he is soooo cuddly! he loves giving hugs and kisses and gettin' cozy on mom's lap
he eats like a champ
he sleeps...and so do I (when his sisters behave)
he unites his sisters...despite their many ongoing battles, when it comes to loving/caring for their baby brother, they are one in purpose & heart
his laugh...it is the happiest sound on earth
This list could truly go on forever, but then there would be no room for the loads of super cute photos that are about to follow.

I am still in denial that this is your child. He is SO big compared to the Jones babies that I know from good old VA. What a cutie!!!
Great pic's AND tribute:)! Our now 1-year old is also waiting a day (or 2 or 3...) to get better for her cake. But wow, Ammon LOVED his! Too cute. He's the same size as our 1st two were on their 1st b-day! (We're in the opposite boat- wondering where our little 21 lb runt came from!) Gotta love chunky kids. I'm SO glad he is so happy and good for you!
P.S. I sure think he looks like you. Do you het that a lot? (Minus the rolls, of course!;)

it is hard though, when the baby turns one and you realize they're growing up!!!
